When you open a Microsoft Office Word 2010 or Word 2007 document that contains a picture or an object, the picture or the object may not appear. This issue may occur in a document that contains a picture, a graphic image, an AutoShape object, or another object.
Word 2010: Click File, and then click Print.Word 2010 and Word 2007 documents consist of separate text and drawing layers. When you use a Wrapping style option other than the In line with text option with a picture or with an object, the picture or the object is inserted into the drawing layer. Word 2010 and Word 2007 do not display the drawing layer when you view the document in Draft view or in Outline view. The drawing layer is displayed in a Word 2010 and in a Word 2007 document when you use any one of the views that are mentioned in this workaround.

Microsoft has started sending invites for Office 2010 Technical Preview program. Those of you who recently signed up for this Technical Preview program might have got the email today from Microsoft, giving you the access to download the bits. However the Build 14.0.4006.1110 which is available on Microsoft Connect site is older than the most recently leaked Beta build 14.0.4302.1000.
Welcome! We are pleased to invite you into the Technical Preview program to be among the first people in the world to experience Microsoft Office 2010. The following link will bring you to Microsoft Connect, where you will find downloads available for early, pre-release versions of Microsoft Office 2010 products. You will also find product information and have the chance to participate in newsgroups to engage with our product teams and other program participants. Please note that there is no technical support offered for this program.
At this year's Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC), Microsoft announced that Office 2010, SharePoint Server 2010, Visio 2010, and Project 2010 have reached the Technical Preview stage. As announced in May, Microsoft is giving tens of thousands of people the opportunity to test Office and Visio. All WPC attendees (cost of entry is $2,000) will receive invitations to participate in the Technical Preview program, as will hand-picked testers.
Microsoft acknowledged that the reason Office 2010 is not ready for a public release is that this release is not yet feature complete and is solely being made available to garner feedback for the engineering team.
One of the significant improvements that Microsoft deserves applause for is the streamlining of the number of editions from Office 2007's eight to Office 2010's five. The most obvious change is that OneNote is available in every single SKU. The five SKUs are as follows (Microsoft has not yet revealed pricing):
Testers will be getting access to the Office 2010 Professional SKU. When a recent build of Office 2010 leaked yesterday, we noted that it was curious it was referred to as "Mondo," which signifies Ultimate, because we were told by a good source that the Ultimate SKU had been killed off. This has been confirmed today, as was the removal of the Enterprise edition and Basic edition, but it only leaves more questions about yesterday's leak of build 14.0.4302.1000.
Microsoft has indicated that with the new version, picture and video editing is coming to PowerPoint, new data visualization capabilities are being added to Excel, and that co-authoring (two or more people can work on a project simultaneously and see their changes in real-time) is coming to Word, PowerPoint, and OneNote. In addition, Outlook is getting advanced e-mail management and calendaring capabilities (as well as the useful Ignore function for "Reply All" chains that was detailed in April). Finally, the company also noted easy document preparation through the new Microsoft Office Backstage view, as well as a feature called "Sparklines" in Excel for visualizing data and spotting trends more quickly. With Office 2010, the Ribbon has been added to Outlook, Publisher, and OneNote, which used the old menus in Office 2007.
If you don't get into the Technical Preview, don't worry; the public preview of Office 2010 is slated to arrive "this coming summer." Office 2010 is the first release of the productivity suite that will come in 32-bit and 64-bit flavors (possibly on one DVD). Microsoft is aiming to release Office 2010 in the first half of 2010. If you're interested in learning more, we recommend checking out the Office 2010 website as it has good video footage explaining what's coming.
The most ambitious goal Microsoft is striving for with Office 2010 is making it available via a familiar experience across the PC, phone, and browser. As such, there will be Office Web Applications (browser versions of Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OneNote), which were announced in October 2008 at PDC, in both free and pay-for versions. Microsoft is planning on supporting Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Safari. They will be powered by Silverlight, though it is not yet known to what extent.
In MS Office 2010 or higher print preview has been embedded inside print tab not as like classic print preview where you can see the full screen print preview with page setup. To see the print preview you have to click on file and print in both MS Word and MS Excel, where print option and preview are both combined. It is not as useful as earlier print option where we can see full screen print preview with page setup. Also in MS office 2010 and higher there is no option to enable shortcut for print preview in ribbon, so that we can easily reach to print preview in one click.
Now when you click on this icon you can see classic office 2003/2007 like print preview, also in MS excel follow the above steps and in step 5 choose print preview full screen and you are done.Similar Post- -office/editing-in-word-2010-print-preview/
The new Write-N-Cite for Windows supports Windows 7, Vista and XP. We recommend using the plug-in on Office 2010 during this preview due to a known issue in Office 2007. We will fully support Office 2007 with the upcoming release to all customers.
To enable it in Office 2010 applications, you need to customize the Quick Access toolbar (QAT) or Ribbon in Word and Excel. Note: The Send to mail recipient feature is on the Publisher 2010 Send menu, as Send Current Page, but was hidden in Word and Excel.
Hello,I have an issue on a Citrix XenApp 6.0 server where Live Preview in MS Word 2010 is disabled the following message:'Previews have automatically been disabled based on terminal server settings....'Live Preview works fine when a user is logged in as administrator via Citrix but when a regular user is logged in via Citrix the message appears. When a user connects via the Microsoft RDP client Live Preview works fine.Has anyone seen this before? Thanks
Hi Marty and welcome to the forum! How was Office 2010 installed? Which version is being used? Can you please check if there is the following setting available in the users registry? On 32-bit Windows, change the following flag value to 0: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Citrix\CtxHook\AppInit_Dlls\UIHook Name: Flag Type: REG_DWORD Data: 0 On 64-bit Windows, change the following flag values to 0: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\CtxHook64\AppInit_Dlls\UIHook Name: Flag Type: REG_DWORD Data: 0
Hi Reinhard,Thanks for your reply.I installed Office 2010 Standard via the 'Install application on remote desktop server' control panel applet. The key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\CtxHook64\AppInit_Dlls\UIHook does not exist on my Windows 2008 R2 terminal server. I have the following key:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\CtxHook but no CtxHook64 key.Inside HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Citrix\CtxHook I have AppInit_Dlls but no UIHookI've attached the screenshot of my registry hive to this post. Do I need to create the UIHook key? Thanks
Hello!I've got the same problem like martywire... even if I logon with a user which is a domain administrator the live preview option is greyed out.Checked twice my group policies... there is nothing configured about live preview feature. Set the corresponding settings to enable this feature via Group Policy: nothing changes... still grayed out.Checked the mentioned registry key: it doesn't exist! My environment: Citrix XenApp 6.5 with latest HRP installed running on Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with SP1 installed. Office 2010 installed as 32-bit application and given to my users as "published App" not streamed.Quite made some tests with different constellations... only if I rename a user profile directly on the Win Srv 2008 Server (the profile directory is usually saved on our central managed fileserver) and let my user connect with his unchanged username the live preview option isn't grayed out and I'm able to use this option. Disadvantage of this solution: the user isn't able to save any settings... due to the not existing profile directory on the server. As we've got many users with grown profiles the way of making new user profiles isn't a way for me...Are there any new suggestions to get this thing working?RegardsMarkus 2ff7e9595c
