The defending World Series champion Braves swept the three-game series and moved two games ahead of New York in the National League East. Any combination of one Atlanta win or one Mets loss would give the Braves their fifth straight division title.

Baseball's new postseason format means the winner of the NL East will get a first-round bye into the divisional round as the second seed. The NL East runner-up will get the fourth seed and play in a three-game wild-card series, with the winner of that series moving to the divisional round.

The Mets had a 79% chance to win the National League East entering this weekend's series versus the Braves, according to FanGraphs.com. But after New York was swept, and factoring in the season-series tiebreaker, the Braves now have a 98% shot at winning the division:

Keeping youths closer to their families is a core principle of New York State's juvenile justice program. The importance of locating youth in placement close to where they are from cannot be understated. Not only does this allow families to more easily visit, but it gives them the ability to participate in the youth's rehabilitation program which increases the likelihood of success for youth once they are released.

The Buccaneers can clinch the division title next Sunday with a win over the Panthers. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m. at Raymond James Stadium. If Carolina wins, Tampa Bay will still be alive but will no longer control its own destiny. The Panthers would win the division in Week 18 with a win at New Orleans.

The Bucs are back in a tie for first in the NFC South after losing at Pittsburgh in Week Six but get a chance to go to 3-0 in division play next Sunday at Carolina, where the Panthers are having injury issues at the quarterback position
